Abstract

The biomechanical analysis of sutures is essential for understanding their mechanical properties and optimizing surgical techniques, ensuring greater resistance and effectiveness in tissue fixation processes. This study aims to compare a suture technique described in the literature with an alternative option for pexy procedures. The evaluation will include execution time and the mechanical resistance of the sutures. Biomechanical tests will be conducted to measure the maximum load supported before failure. Preliminary tests suggest that the proposed technique may exhibit greater resistance compared to the traditional technique, indicating a potential advantage in its surgical application. However, additional analyses with a larger sample size and statistical tests will still be performed to validate these findings.
