Abstract

The degradation of the vegetal biomass is essential for the maintenance of terrestrial ecosystems. In forests, most of the wood biodegradation processes is carried out by fungus, mainly the basidiomicets, by an enzymatic complex consisting of cellulases, hemicellulases, pectinases and ligninases. The significance of this process concerns on the biotechnological and the ecological aspects, once these enzymes are very used in industrial processes, we propose a study on the application of ligninases produced by species of basidiomicets Pycnocporus sanguineus and Lentinus stringellus, in industrial dyes degradation processes. The production of the ligninases will be performed in a solid state fermentation reactor at 27°C, using agricultural residues as substrates. The crude enzymatic solutions collected from an aqueous suspension will be tested about its activity. The enzymes will be applied to the azo dyes solutions as the Orange II and others dyes for an evaluation of the potential of discoloration and degradation of the same, through spectrophotometry and chromatography, as well as the derivates compounds of this discoloration enzymatic process.
