Abstract

The main objective of this project is to access, identify and evaluate some species of the endophytic bacteria present in the guarana, Paullinia cupana var. sorbilis (Mart.) Ducke., for the control of anthracnose, one of the most important diseases from the culture of guarana. The guaraná is a plant of great economic importance in the north, and the derivatives from this plant, move financial resources on a wide scale, for example in the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics, reaching the world market. However anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum guaranicola, is reducing considerably the cultivation area of guarana in the state of Amazonas. The isolation of endophytic microorganisms of guarana and their identification by molecular techniques of taxonomy will be the main goals, and then check for potential bacteria for control of anthracnose.
