Abstract

The use of plants considered green manure or cover crops, has had a good acceptance, due to increased crop productivity in succession, as well as improving soil fertility in question. The project will be carried out to evaluate the effect of using different vegetation cover before the cultivation of highland rice and doses of nitrogen on the development and yield of wheat in tillage systems. The experiment will be made of blocks arranged in a factorial scheme 6 x 6 and treatments will be constituted by the residual effect of different types of mulch (millet, Crotalaria juncea, Cajanus cajan, the fallow with weeds, and the consortium millet + Cajanus cajan and millet + Crotalaria juncea) grown before rice cultivation and different doses of nitrogen (0, 25, 50, 75, 100 and 125 kg ha -1), totaling 36 treatments with 4 replicates. The study will be conducted in the Experimental Farm of Education and Research belonging to the Faculty of Engineering - UNESP - Ilha Solteira, located in the city of Selvíria - MS / Brazil. The local soil is dark red oxysoil epi-eutrophic Alic, clay texture. The average annual rainfall of the area and mean annual temperature are 1370 mm and 23.5 º C, respectively with a relative humidity between 70 and 80% (annual average). During the experiment will be conducted the following assessments: dry weight of plants, plant height, total leaf N, lodging, number of grains per spike, grain yield, the weight of 100 grains weight, and hectolitre. Index terms: Triticum aestivum L., green manure, nitrogen. (AU)
