Abstract

The aim of the present study is to evaluate the final color obtained when different bleaching agents are used and the influence of methods that may be used in association with these products. Therefore, 25 human central superior incisors extracted will be divided in 5 groups (n=5) and will receive the following treatments: Group I - control group - the teeth will remain in artificial saliva during all the experiment, not being submitted to the bleaching agent; Group II - the teeth will be submitted to the carbamide peroxide 10%, for 4 hours, daily, during 3 weeks; Group III - The teeth will be submitted to the hydrogen peroxide 35% for 30 minutes at each 7 days, without light activation, during 3 weeks; Group IV the teeth will be submitted to the hydrogen peroxide 35% for 30 minutes, using an halogen light activation, at each 7 days, during 3 weeks; Group V - the teeth will be submitted to the hydrogen peroxide 35% for 30 minutes, using a LED/laser as light source, at each 7 days, during 3 weeks. The analysis will be carried out using the espectrofotometric method,before and after each bleaching session, as well as 7 days after the ending of the procedures to verify the permanence of the final color. The results will be submitted to the adequate statistics analysis.
