Abstract

Cyclosporine A is a immunosuppressant drug used to treat transplant patients and autoimmune diseases. Although widely used, its use causes many toxic effects on the body. Among these effects are nephrotoxicity and hepatotoxicity, long reported in various studies.Heteropterys aphrodisiaca is plant known mainly in the central-west Brazil, for being stimulating and invigorating sexual nature. Studies showed that the combination of infusion of H. aphrodisiaca with the drug Cyclosporin A exerted a protective effect on the germinal epithelium. With the joint administration of the infusion of Heteropterys aphrodisiaca and Cyclosporin A in adult male Wistar rats, toxicological analysis will be carried out through measurements of plasma biochemical components, stereological and morphometric analysis of liver and kidney, and transmission and scanning electron microscopy these organs, verifying if these changes as a result of treatment.
