Abstract Recently it was suggested that the correct symmetry of the noncommutative (quantum) field theory is the twisted Poincare group. The proposed research concerns the investigation of the various consequences of this suggestion from both theoretical and phenomenological points of view. We also propose to investigate the connection of this formulation of the 3D noncommutative gravity to noncommutative Chern-Simons theory as well as to look for the cosmological effects due to noncommutativity.
