Abstract

The project is focused towards research into various transport phenomenaoccurring in two kinds of magnetic nanostructures: i) d. c. Magnetoresistance innanowires and ii) Complex impedance and microwave absorption in isolated nanowireas well as in array of nanowires embedded in a dielectric media.Regarding research activities, the project is ambitious from the point of view offundamental physics (innovative composite nanostructured magnetic materials, magnetoresistance or complex impedance) and also can contribute to the technologicalfield concerning the microwave absorption of considered nanostructures. An important aspect refers to the use of new composite nanostructured magneticmaterials prepared by physical and electrochemical techniques, using different magneticmaterials: Fe, Co, Ni, FeNi or Co/Cu multilayers. The project approach can be considered mainly experimental, including DC andAC magntotransport in magnetic nanowires, although some phenomenological andtheoretical model will be considered. If possible, the technological potential of theses magnetic nanostructures willalso be explored: i.e., electronic devices for recording media, new sensors based onfrequency response.
