Abstract

International sports events are characterized as important occurrences that influences the society routine and mobilizes a large number of people in the world. The world cup, Olympic games, cars races, etc. improve the tourism and generates an intense movement of goods, equipments and people, besides that they accelerate infrastructure's investments. In this context, the logistic plays an important role because it ensures an efficient management of resources, equipment and information in a way to support the essential conditions to perform the events. The Sports events logistics involve complex infrastructure's planning and construction that must be refilled with material and equipment in order to make the event and all the activities involved feasible (LIMA JR, 2010). The aim of this research is to analyze the three aspects highlighted by Lima Jr. (facilities, supplies and operations) in two world cups - Germany (2006) and South Africa (2010). The research will develop based on the case study's methodology. The cases will be analyzed and compared to identified differences and similarities. The final results will allow the understanding of the logistic involved in this type of events and can contribute with suggestions to the Brazilian world cup organization. (AU)
