Abstract

The natural landscapes units differ by relief, climate, vegetation, soils or even by structural arrangement and lithology type. The pedological caracterization and the understanding of the relations between pedology, geology and geomorfology are important to the understanding of soil distribution in a landscape. The review of soils has began with the researches of Dokuchaev, in Ukraine, influencing many other researchers that deepened in theme, worrying more and more with the evaluation of the landscape constituents and the relation of soil with these constituents. Recently a research line has been developed focused on the knowledge of coverages weatherings, their classification and relation with the physical features of the environment. Considering the landscape as a changeable and dynamic combination of physical, biological and anthropic elements and being in constant evolution, it proposes the study of chemical, physical and mineralogical characteristics of the surface coverage of the same physiographic Unit as in the zone of Western Plateau and Peripherical Depression to understand its genetic and chronological relations of landscape evolution in area. This search aims to contribute to the progress of superficial covers and their relationship with the landscape evolution. The review of coverages weatherings in the paulista Midwest region and their acknowledgement are fundamental to the regional and territorial planning.
