Abstract

The composites are currently in evidence in the arsenal of professional dentistry as a restorative material, given the evolution suffered by them, along with its feature to restore the natural appearance of teeth. When in anterior teeth, these materials have good durability, however, in later, its lifetime is lower, due to the large masticatory forces. For this second statement, they should show some characteristics such as hardness, which is reasonable indicator of other mechanical properties of the material. This study aims to evaluate the in vitro occurrence of changes in surface hardness of resin composites when subjected to the process of accelerated aging (E.AA.) by UV-C system. 8 will be used brands of composite resins: Z250, Supreme, 4Seasons, Herculite, P60, Tetric Ceram, Z100 and Charisma; divided into 2 groups, with them, aged and not aged (control), with a total of 128 bodies of- -proof. For the analysis of the hardness of the specimens shall be used Microdurometer HMV 2000, Shimadzu (Kyoto, Japan). The results will be submitted to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test (p> 0.05), ANOVA and Tukey test (p <0.05).
