Abstract

The aims of this study are to verify and to compare the occurrence of phonological alterations in speech and writing samples of students from 1st to 5th grade of public and private schools; to compare the occurrence of phonological alterations in the speech and writing samples of students from 1st to 5th grade of public and private schools; to verify if the PCC and PCC-R severity index differ in the speech and writing samples; and to correlate the altered phonological processes and the PCC and PCC-R severity index in the speech and writing samples. 300 students will participate in this study, being 150 students from a public school and 150 students from a private school of Marília-SP, distributed between 1st to 5th grades, both genders, ranging from 6 to 10 years and 11 months. As procedure, the phonology tests from the Child Language Test - ABFW and thematic composition will be used. After the evaluation, transcription and analysis of phonological processes of the speech and writing sample, the values of severity index will be calculated through the percentage of correct consonants. The results will be statistically analyzed to compare and to correlate the occurrence of phonological alterations in the speech and writing sample of students from 1st to 5th grades of public and private schools.
