Abstract

The development of fast, safe and low cost analytical methods that quantify contaminants in agricultural matrices attract the interest of many researchers in last two decades. Due to its simplicity and great sensitivity, the biosensors have acquired space in the agricultural area, mainly for the possibility to perform continuous monitoring and in real time with these devices, presenting themselves as potential substitutes of destructive analytical techniques or that demand high amounts of samples, intensifying its commercial interest. In the area of immunosensors, the systems of QCM- "Quartz Crystal Microbalance and SPR -" Surface Plasmon Resonance” are the techniques more recommended for the comprehension of antigen-antibody interactions, that among other advantages, possess the capacity to exclude the use of markers, as enzymes or radioisotopes. The adsorption and the maintenance of immunocompound on the sensor surface constitute one of the basic stages on the biosensors development. This project will have as immunoassay model the detection of Asian rust mycelium in soybean samples, including the future possibility of system portatibility and accomplishment of the measures in situ. A biosensor for the soybean rust will be able to contribute to the reduction of the damages caused by the dispersion of Phakopsora pachyrhizi fungus into the Brazilian states that can range over U$ 1.7 billion.
