Abstract

The proposition of this work consists on study and implementation of computational algorithms to be used as support to fraud identification on electrical energy consumer units. In order to get this accomplished, the main strategies, used by electrical energy enterprises, for losses mitigation caused by frauds or inaccurate measurement, will be inspected. The investigated techniques will allow the characterization of electrical energy consumer units through the building of typical load charts. The characterization of consumer profiles can turn on an important tool useful on localization of honest consumers whose measurement instruments shows some kind of fault or dishonest consumers who intentionally adulterate, by some way, the measurement equipments or promote a criminal installation of clandestine circuits.
