Abstract

This Project aims the synthesis of organic materials to be used in solar cells and organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). Two classes of materials are focused on this proposal, discotic liquid-crystals and semiconducting polymers. These materials are deposited by solution and processed by solution and could show high charge mobility similar to organic molecular semiconductors. The proposed materials will be synthesized and characterized by standard analytical techniques and advanced electrooptics and microscopy. The charge carrier properties will be determined by electrical and optical measurements. (AU)
