Abstract

This study aims to determine the prevalence of the Burnout Syndrome in teachers of a course in dentistry and its association with sociodemographic variables. The study population will consist of all teachers of the Faculty of Dentistry of Araraquara - UNESP, who consent to participate. To characterize the sample will be raised socio-demographic information. The evaluation of the Burnout Syndrome will be held using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Delivery of questionnaires to teachers will be sought in his work-room by the researcher. Data will be organized for all variables of study and are presented in tables and graphs. The internal consistency of the scale will be estimated by alfa-Cronbach Coefficient.The Burnout prevalence will be estimated by point and by 95% confidence interval. To study the associations of interest will be applied the chi-square test. The level of significance to be adopted will be 5%.
