Abstract

This project will be developed as part of the Thematic project" Conservation and sustainable use of the plant diversity from Cerrado and Atlantic Forest: chemical diversity and potential drugs" Proc. Nº 98/05074-0. The objective of this research is to isolate and to elucidate compounds with anti-cancer and anti-microbial activities on the basis of therapeutic claims in traditional medicine. Of particular interest in this project proposal is to explore the anti-cancer and anto-microbial activities of the limonoidal constituents which are distributed in the plants belonging to Meliaceae family and allied.
