Abstract

Eyelid moviments integrity is crutial to ocular protection and appropriate ocular surface function. Many infirmities can change eyelid dynamics: Graves orbitopathy, facial palsy, congenital defects, traumas etc. Despite of eyelid dynamics relevance and frequency of modifications due to several clinical conditions, the analysis is limitated by complex and expensive imported system (magnetic search coil) that demands exclusive laboratory.In our service, we have already developed and experimentaly tested in laboratory, a new evaluation system for eyelid dynamics study by a digital camera. A software developed in our service selects the eyelid moviment received by the camera end converts this images to numerical data that permits analysis of eyelid position in time and space.The aim of this research Project is criate a portabe system to eyelid dynamics evaluation by our software adjustment and comparison of this new system with the magnetic search coil, that we already have. We will study 40 patients. Our aim is developed a system for measures of eyelid dynamics unsophisticated, more accessible and portable.
