Abstract

The present survey is intended to evaluate the social support of parental proxies in the case of children with cerebral palsy and to check the relationship of this support over the self-independence on them daily living activities of these children. It will be focused on the influence of that social support in the life quality and on the motor severity. It will evaluate parental proxies of 50 children with cerebral palsy aging from 4 to 12 years old. For this survey two tolls will be utilized, the Childhood Assessment Questionnaire (CHAQ) and the Social Support Questionnaire (SSQ). The CHAQ will evaluate the self-independence in the daily living activities and the life quality of those children. The SSQ will evaluate the level of social support received by the parental proxies. In order to select children for the survey the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) will be applied. To establish the influence of the parental proxies social support in the daily living activities self-independence of those children with cerebral palsy, the Wilconxon´s test will be used. It analyses the outcome of each questionnaire, which is got by a score.
