Abstract

Theories with large extra compact dimensions have been proposed to solve the hierarchy problem. In this model gravity becomes comparable to other interactions and hence leads to many phenomenological consequences which could be tested in future colliders. Several planned polarised experiments at CERN, DESY, and RHIC are expected to shed light on the polarised gluon contribution. It is important in this context to consider higher order corrections to some relevant processes to make predictions for these experiments. We will also work on heavy quarkonium physics which is a good testing ground for preturbative and non-perturbative aspects of QCD and hence it is important to analyse the various details of the production and decay mechanisms.
