Abstract

A boarding to multidisciplinary studies of mastocitoma, that it includes several techniques of diagnosis (histologic, imunohistochemic, histochemic etc.), can be necessary for the best assistance to some patients (Rogers KS, 1996). Will be enclosed in this study all the dogs submitted to surgical procedure in the Surgery Service of Small Animals - HOVET - FMVZ/USP with diagnosis of aspiratory cytology for fine needle of mastocitoma, in the period of January of 2007 to January of 2008. All the animals will be enclosed, independent of its age, sex or breed. All the formations will be weighed with precision and submitted to evaluation, and this will consist in the sending of samples of surgically excised mastocitoma for the main destinations: 1- Cell cultive; 2- Disaggregation for citogenetic analysis of chromosomes; 3- Disaggregation os tumor cells for RT-PCR to express the conensine32 gene; 4- Histopathologic Analyse; 5- Sthereologic Analyse. To send each sample of the formation the procedures will be done in a standardized and specific form, which makes possible the accomplishment of the different exams and analyses. The present work aim the multidisciplinary study of canine mastocitoma, and needs of precise collect of the material and distribution to the different laboratories. Thus, we will work in techniques and methods that aim at, after the surgical excision, the distribution and initial processing in the fractionated material and its immersion in solutions adjusted for histopathologic and sthereologic analyses. We will search to make concrete the linking that lacks between the surgical procedure and the laboratories analyses, making the collection of this material efficient to allow diagnostics necessary and trustworthy clinical prognostic.
