Abstract

The high performance computing evolution directed efforts towards the scale-out approach. This approach supports the development of computer clusters and computational Grids to provide scalable environments for resource sharing. Applications executing under these environments take advantage of their processing capacity, but they usually have additional costs of message exchange and data access which sometimes are prohibitive. The reduction of such costs motivate this research project, which aims the development of a framework for data access optimization in distributed environments.
