Abstract

In the currently accepted cosmological scenario, structures form hierarchically, where the smallest objects merge forming clusters of galaxies, the largest relaxed structures in the universe. One difficulty in studying the formation of clusters is the complexity of the system. This problem can only be addressed adequately through N-body numerical simulations. The goal of this "Scientific Initiation" is the study of galaxy clusters collisions and learning the state-of-the-art numerical simulation techniques. The results of these numerical simulations will be compared to clusters of galaxies observed in X-ray.
