Abstract

The Big Bang model is the theoretical scenario for understanding the manner in which the universe evolved from extreme uniformity to the rich structural diversity observed today in stars, galaxies and clusters of galaxies. The objective of this project is to make theoretical observational analysis of the problems related to the formation of the different structures in the universe in order to allow us to better understand the physical phenomena involved. In order to do this, we will study the relevant phenomena, using analytic theory, numerical simulations and optical and x-ray observations of galaxies and clusters of galaxies, as well as observations of the cosmic microwave background. The project is a continuation of the research supported by FAPESP (00/06770-2) since 2000, "Cosmic microwave background and formation of structures in the universe". The financial support requested is similar to that of the previous project. (AU)
