Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the normal values of latencies and amplitudes of multifocal electroretinography (mfERG) responses in the laboratory of electrophysiology of vision form the department of Ophthalmology of the University of São Paulo in Ribeirão Preto.A total of 70 healthy subjects will be enrolled, and assigned into 6 aging groups: 11 to 20 years of age (group A), 21 to 30 (B), 31 to 40 (C), 41 to 50 (D), 51 to 60 (E), 61 to 70 (F) and older than 71 (G), to allow determination of aging effects on normal mfERG responses.Exams will be performed using the mfERG system from DiagnosysLLC, both eyes of each subject will be evaluated by means of DTL electrodes under pupilar dilatation (1 drop tropicamide + 1 drop fenilefrine).Data analysis will provide averages and confidence intervals, and their interrelation with age to allow further comparisons with patients' examinations.
