Abstract

The project “Our Children: Windows of opportunities” has been developed to support and strengthening the actions of the health teams toward the promotion of child development. The pilot project for its implementation has been carried out in several units of health in the municipality of Sao Paulo, and evaluated by research during the years 2004 to 2006, with support from CNPq. The results showed that the actions proposed in this program have been well accepted by the team of health as well as the population. However, its effectiveness could not be checked, due to the political and administrative changes that had occur in the period on analysis. So, it is necessary to develop new experiences that enable its implementation and permanent evaluation, in order to identify their potential and limits. The activities of partnership between the School of Nursing at the University of Sao Paulo and the health facilities of the region's Butantã-SP, made possible identify a health institution with favorable conditions for hosting this experience. Thanks the partnership between these institutions, there is an opportunity to perform the implementation of the project. The objective of the evaluation research is to evaluate the implementation of actions for the promotion of child health project Our Children: windows of opportunity. The whole process will be accompanied by the researcher: meetings, activities, training of professionals for the project, activities with the families. All these activities will be recorded and analyzed. It will be part of the evidence individual and group interviews with workers. The theoretical categories of analysis will be the elements of care, according described by Ayres. (AU)
