Abstract

Ischemia and reperfusion of splanchnic organs can result in a severe form of circulatory collapse known as splanchnic artery occlusion shock, probably related to increased capillary permeability and oxygen-derived free radicals accumulation. The aim of the present study is at verifying the role of the scavenger alpha-tocopherol and hypertonic saline Dextra in the attenuation of injuries of ischemia and reperfusion in splanchnic organs in a rat model.
