Abstract

It was performed two experiments in the agricultural years 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. The first study was developed in Piracicaba-SP and aimed to compare the carbohydrate dynamic and development of \'Niagara Rosada submitted to different pruning frequencies, the treatments was: plants subjected to just one crop per year during the summer time, and another group subjected to two crops per year, one during the summer and another during the winter. The second study was performed in the cities of Atibaia - SP, Jundiai - SP and Porto Feliz - SP. The objective of the second study it was to evaluate the development and production of the grapevine \'Niagara Rosada\' subjected to ethephon sprays, before the pruning for the winter production. The treatments consist of different concentrations of ethephon applied 20 and 15 days before pruning production. The statistical design of the first experimet was a incomplete blocks, and the data submitted to analysis of variance.and compared to Scott Knott test at 5% significance level. The treatments of the second experiment were organized in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) and the data were submitted to ANOVA and Tukey test at 5% significance level. In the summer harvest the total soluble carbohydrate concentrations (TSC) are lower in the period of flowering and harvest, the highest concentrations occur in the fruiting stage. During the winter season, the concentration of TSC of pruned plants ranged similarly as a observed in the summer harvest. The concentration of starch reaches maximum level during the summer harvest, after this period, the starch concentration decreased in pruned and not pruned vines. The winter crop production reduced the summer production. Ethephon sprays, promote vine defoliation, improve the bud break, alter vine development and production. However this is not due the increase in the branches carbohydrate reserves concentration. (AU)
