Abstract

This research had as one of its main objectives to inventory the academic researches produced in the last decade (2000 - 2010) trying to think about the relationship between the act of reading and the library. The period chosen to be studied was based on a previous research produced by (Ferreira, 1999), and - as well as other researches ¿ is one of the work fronts of the research group called 'Literacy, Reading and Writing' (ALLE). This investigation sought to find and aggregate all this production, trying to put together reflections developed in different parts of the country, questioning moments, places and subjects involved. As a bibliographic research, it sought to build what we call the "State of the Art", through mapping and systematization of the existing researches on reading that address to the library, taking as theoretical support the researches made by Ferreira (1999, 2002, 2003); Teixeira and Megid (1996) and Ribeiro (2011). The systematization of the data indicated a production with very different characteristics, but that focuses mainly on graduate programs in Education. Reading the summaries of this last group of researches allowed us to delineate and discuss how the school library is shown in recent academic production, its emphasis and its dialogue with the concerns and challenges in this field. Reflections of Michèle Petit (2008), Jacob (2008), Silva (2001, 2005, 2012) and Moreira (2008, 2012), helped us to format the major issue of this research, as well as the references of Cultural History, especially studies of R. Chartier (1994, 1996 and others) (AU)
