Abstract

A fair city comprises the interaction of people with the built environment, so that its structure meets the daily needs of its residents and residents without preconceived privileges, since the experience and use of the cities are perceived in different ways between women and men. Urbanization has historically been associated with an expansion of socio-economic and political opportunities for women, which is why the issue of gender and urban prosperity emerges in the context of celebrating the city as a source of wealth and well-being. However, this intercession of gender relations in urban space coexists with socio-spatial inequalities, often referring to the marginalization and invisibility of women and their right to the city. In this sense, the objective of the research is to identify the inclusion of gender issues in the urban public policies, from the perspective of women implemented in the city of São Paulo. The analysis deals with the variables of reality related to public space, participation, mobility, security, housing, equipment and services. To do so, a documentary survey will be carried out for the period from 1990 to 2015. It is hoped that the methodological procedures used in it will provide and encourage further research to broaden the discussion of the topic, and its results point to encouraging for construction of more egalitarian cities (AU)
