Abstract

A system of identical coupled waveguide presents even and odd propagating optical modes. It is known that these modes generate attractive and repulsive forces on the waveguides. We have shown that the beating force, that arises from the superposition of even and odd modes, can be relevant. In this work we have designed, fabricated and characterized a coupled waveguides (CWG) device with the purpose of observing the beating force (AU)
