Abstract

The ultrasonic testing is an efficient alternative for assessing quality and identifying defects in different materials without modifying its shape or properties. The test can predict possible structural failures in reinforced concrete structures due to anomaly regions. The ultrasonic tomography is obtained from the data of the ultrasonic testing, representing images of the constructive element interior. However, these images do not always accurately represent the defects in the structural elements. In this context, the objective of this work is to study the ultrasonic tomography applied to the detection of concreting voids, through the use of data interpolation and image processing techniques. In addition, we aim to evaluate the quality of the images obtained. Experiments were conducted from samples produced in the laboratory with and without PVC pipes. The results showed the best conditions for carrying out the tests. Also, a better visualization and identification of internal defects were acquired through image processing techniques (AU)
