Abstract

This work aims to establish a method for developing instructional software devoted to the improvement of cognitive skills. Three of the softwares developed are described, concerning three experimental techniques in Biochemistry: gel permeation chromatography, affinity chromatography and ion exchange chromatography. The software\'s content and interface aim to promote reflection on the physical-chemical principles of the techniques. The softwares were evaluated with undergraduate students from Biological and Health courses, by means of a method established in this work. These evaluation studies show that the software can be successfully used for teaching the physical-chemical principles of the techniques at the level of Comprehension and Application. (AU)
