Abstract

Although distribution systems are built in mesh structures, they are usually operated in a radial configuration. Faults in distribution systems can cause undesired blackouts to healthy consumers. To reduce theirs effects, computational tools able to generate restoration plans in short time are used. These plans consist in presenting a switching sequence able to minimize system\'s non supplied energy with the lowest switching operations number possible, while respecting the system operational restrictions, such as load and voltage limits. In this project, a method that uses a multiobjective evolutive algorithm in tables, able to deal with conflicting objectives without the need of assigning different weights to each one, preceded by a deterministic stage applied to the fault region, is presented. This method is a variation of known models and can evaluate different consumers priorities and differentiate remote and manual switches, while also favors the achievement of restoration plans that cause no temporary turn offs. To evaluate the proposed method effectiveness, its results are compared to the method used as base for its development. This comparison is based on the best results obtained by each method after a set of simulations in a small and a real large-scale distribution system. Results indicate that the proposed method allows meaningful improvements over the base method in small systems, with smaller gains in large-scale systems, due to computational limitations. (AU)
