Abstract

The Wave magazine was launched in the city of Campinas in May 1, 1921, by the initiative of Domingos de Andrade and Victor Caruso, at the time the local agency employees of Caixa Economica state. The publication had only 4 years of circulation, but was extremely significant for the history of Campinas press, particularly following magazines. The magazine that came with your program facing humorismo curiously also would house the futuristic ideas during his last year of service, and would be marked so nostalgic memory of the local press, symbol of an effervescent time of Campinas journalism. This dissertation presents a detailed analysis of the trajectory of The Wave and its features, emphasizing its formal aspects, materials, conditions of production and circulation. The research objective sought to unravel the intellectual group around the magazine, its links with other literary circles and understand what are the meanings and motivations for launching a magazine in the city of Campinas in that moment. Moreover, by analyzing his two literary, humor and a touch futurism, it was demonstrated how the magazine The Wave ran separate projects modernity to the city of Campinas in the respective phases (AU)
