Abstract

The aim is to present the hypothesis that some aspects of Marx’s early texts formalize a critique of the “economico-metaphysical method [ökonomisch-metaphysischen Methode]”. What is metaphysical in political economy is the overlapping of the capitalist specificity over the analysis and the presentation of this determination as external to the sociability that creates it. Exposing the overlapping of the logic of the capital-relation over its explanation “materializes” the marxian critique of metaphysics. In the marxian case, the exposition is the critique insofar as it takes place from the understanding that the forms carry in them the specificity of the abstraction that characterizes the social relationship that creates them and is reproduced by them. The texts chosen for analysis are “Debates on the Law of Thefts of Wood (1842)”, “The 1844 Manuscripts” and “Misery of Philosophy (1847)”. The arguments are based on Rubin (1987, 2014), Pachukanis (2017), Moseley (2004, 2014, 2016), Smith (1990), Arthur (2004), Grespan (2012, 2019), Kurz (2014), Sekine (1997a, 1997b), Silva (1970/2017), Musto (2015, 2018, 2019, 2020a, 2020b).
