| Abstract | |
The present research aims to investigate the speculative notion of Concept (Begriff) in Hegel\'s Science of Logic. The aim is to understand Hegelian dialectical logic with the clash with Kantian transcendental philosophy as a major axis. To do so, we will seek to better understand the meaning of the speculative-logical identity between being and thought through an interpretation of privileged sections of the doctrine of essence and concept. We will first approach both the development of Kantian thought toward the critical project and the analysis of the transcendental deduction in the Critique of Pure Reason, in view of the relation between concept and intuition, and of the teleological judgment in the Critique of Judgment, in view of the notion of internal purposiveness. In the doctrine of essence, we will focus on the notions of appearance, reflection, determinations of reflection, and the so-called modal categories of actuality in order to elaborate the Hegelian critique of Kantian representational thought and what we call the syntax of finitude that underlies it. Finally, we deal with the identity between being and essence in the doctrine of the concept, through the recognition of the split and the negative within not only the subject - in the logical forms of concept, judgment, and syllogism of traditional logic - but also the object - in the forms of mechanism, chemism, and teleology, and especially life - in view of the adequacy between concept and actuality in the notion of idea.
