Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the emergence of a feminist materialist and anti-naturalist thought in the midst of the intense feminist mobilizations of the 1970s and early 1980s in France. From a dialogue between different disciplinary and thematic fields, such as gender studies, feminist theory and the history of ideas, the objective is to analyze this production in close relation with the historical and theoretical context in which such analyzes have arisen and which makes sense to it. Particular emphasis is given to the constitution of what would be known as "materialist feminism," associated with the works of Christine Delphy, Colette Guillaumin, Nicole-Claude Mathieu, and Monique Wittig, who were part of the editorial collective of the journal "Questions féministes" (1977-1980). They were pioneers in proposing an anti-naturalist approach articulated to a materialistic analysis. Using different types of sources, such as pamphlets, magazines and newspapers, as well as texts published as book and article, the objective is to restore the paths followed by this reflection and the theoretical clashes that marked its development, highlighting the conflict and the collective character of this reflection (AU)
