Abstract

The most important to obtention of the competitive processes is the improving of the productive processes. Processes with insatisfactory conformation quality don\'t get to be competitives in cost, because of the high indexes of refuse and rework, they don\'t get to be competitives in time of delivery, because the volume of acceptable production will be unexpected; and finally they don\'t get also to be competitives in quality, because probably, the quality loss of products resulted from processes with insatisfactory conformation quality will be in function of the excessive dispersion o f the results. This work makes a study in the spinning section of a textile industry with the objective of evaluating the quality contrai and the capability of the spinning process, by means of the application of statistican methods, in relation to a critica! parameter ofthe process, the cotton yarn count_ Besides, it analyses the impact ofthe variability of this parameter in the subsequent processes ( dyeing, preparation, weaving), by mean of valuation/quantification o f the no quality cost produced by the variations in the process. The study concludes that the effort of inspection undertaken by the mill doesn\'t justify due the uncontrollable high variability of the process, because of the tecnological delay of the spinning process, and the independent numberless variables of the process. Point out the importance of revision of activities and procedures of cotton yarn number inspection, undertaken by the mill, due the evidence of inefficacy. In relation to the not quality cost of the spinning in the subsequent processes, specially in the woven, the found value can not justify big investiments, necessary in the standardization of the spinning section machines.
