This thesis focuses on the philological examination of the codex Atas da Câmara de Jundiaí de 1732 a 1744 (Minutes of the Chamber of Jundiaí from 1732 to 1744). The codex is part of the collection of the Centro de Memória de Jundiaí, it is well-preserved and documents the administrative practices of one of the oldest cities in São Paulo (Brazil), founded in the 17th century. The research aims to create a facsimile and semi-diplomatic transcription of the Minutes of the Chamber of Jundiaí from 1732 to 1744, as well as to study the structures of the text. Futhermore, a comparative study with the Minutes of the Chamber of Jundiaí from 1663 to 1669 is presented, seeking to identify conservation and innovation in the models employed by the scribes over almost 60 years. To achieve this, the chapters comprising this work address historical aspects of Jundiaí, theoretical foundations (Philology, Paleography, Codicology, Diplomatics, and the Model of Discursive Traditions), methodological procedures, description of the material characteristics of the codex, facsimile and semi-diplomatic edition, analysis of the structures of the text, contextualization of the Minutes of the Chamber of Jundiaí from 1663 to 1669, Conclusions, and an Appendix with a glossary to assist the reader in understanding the content of the 18th-century minutes. By emphasizing the importance of philological work on Brazilian documents, the thesis seeks not only to contribute to the understanding of Jundiaí in its historical, linguistic, and cultural context but also to provide a solid foundation for future explorations and research that may evolve from the analyses presented here.
