Abstract

A three compartments model of a motoneuron is proposed in this work, based on TRAUB (1977), and another model based on BOOTH et al. (1977) is reduced in order to have passive dentrite. The relation between firing frequency and injected current, the membrane passive characteristics, the behavior of the conductance during the AHP, threshold voltage during the interspike interval, the effects of a train of EPSPs and the frequency responses were determined through simulations. The results given by the models are compared with data from the experimental literature. The main feature of this work is to purpose a serie of validation tests with motoneuron models, which were not employed before by others authors. In addition the tests showed how the models under study may be improved. (AU)
