Abstract

Given the theoretical constructs on human development and personality formation, characterized by reductionism, that underpin proposals in the field of current educational policies, this dissertation investigated the conceptualization of the social constitution process of the subject in Cultural-Historical Theory in Psychology and its implications for Education, as it presents itself as an important counterpoint to such conceptions. To this end, a theoretical and bibliographic work was carried out, which included: I) the conceptual deepening of Vygotsky's work amidst the recent publication of his pedological studies that highlight the intricate relationship between development and personality; II) the study of contemporary research addressing the theme in the aforementioned theory; III) and the cross-referencing of studies, seeking to weave reflections on how such conceptions of the development process and constitution of the subject unfold in school contexts. The importance of Vygotsky's studies in understanding personality as a dramatic, socially constituted process, involving the mastery of one's conduct and conception of the world, is considered. In the literature review, it is concluded that in the consulted research there are approximations to the concepts of Cultural-Historical Theory, either by revisiting the theoretical foundations, expanding them, or distancing themselves from them. In any case, they help to think about these categories of Subjectivity, Personality, and Subject Constitution beyond individualizing conceptions (AU)
