| Abstract | |
The present dissertation aims at describing and discussing a Social Psychology subject: the public invisibility. Our investigation is inscribed in two levels: 1. Participant investigation about a subaltern and no qualified work's modality; 2. Investigation about the approximation between researcher and poor workers. The researcher has practiced the ethnographic method. This method required that the researcher had worked as a street sweeper. We have examined, described and discussed psychosocials obstacles and overtures operating at the meeting between researcher and street sweepers. We also have discussed the social mechanisms alienation and humiliation in their job. Here, the public invisibility appears as a phenomenon that we never really understand if we are apart from the oppressed people. We are affiliated to the research developed by José Moura Gonçalves Filho, who proposes the fact and the feeling of the public invisibility as decisives components about that the author has been characterized as Social Humiliation, this suffering by politic, moral and psychological lowering experienced for a long time by poor classes' citizens. Psychosocials motivations and class' antagonisms not so conscious support the invisibility. The personalized vision, recognition vision, looses space for the objectified vision, alienated vision, humiliation vision. The invisibility is psychological blindness, is more automated when the community feeling, between the blind and the person who wasn't seen, is powerless.
