Abstract | |
To start from 80\'s decade, registered at Brazilian population, two nutritionists problems from numerous nature: the obesity in adults and malnutrition in children and adolescents. So, the relation among then has been less investigated in Brazil. By the way, it becomes necessary to study the distribution lo the same family of the nutritional status, considering the different moments of life. The introduced project had as purpose to distinguish and associate the nutritional status adults, children and adolescents belonged to families with income up to US$70. The estimation of the nutritional status in children/ adolescents was done through the indicator Height for age(H/A), considering as cutting-point -1 z-score, while the adults evaluation of the nutritional status was done through the Body Mass index (BMI) with cutting-point 25Kg/m2 The verification of the related factors to the nutritional status in children, adolescents and adults was done through the elaboration of 3 hierarchical models of multiple logistic regression. It shows that 35.6% of the children and 37.5% of the adolescents/school was stunted, while that 57.8% of women and 29.4% of men was overwhight. The high proportion of the overweigh in adults can be coming from changes in the form of using lands in the studied cities. Due to of these changes, the standard physical activity of the population, fundamentally women was changed, becoming less intense, fact that helps to win and accumulate more weight. In the case of children / adolescents, the stunted was related to the mother\'s and father\'s low stature possibly, determinated by socioeconomic and environments factors. Thereby the association between the nutritional status of the same family can be the beginning of the indication of a perpetuity of needs. Besides, the women, it shows that the most prevalences of the overweigh was related to age more of 40 years and low-height. Was presupposed that the obesity is deriving from stunted resultant from energy-saving adaptation mechanisms. Then the overweight and the malnutrition (diagnosed by stunted) might have a common etiology. (AU) |
