Abstract | |
This work presents a systematic study of the scientific production on Geosciences in Brazil. The study covers the time interval between 1980 and 2000, being focused on publications of Brazilian researchers, both in local and international journals dedicated to the subject. The Knowledge Map resulting from the present research, creates a general picture of productivity in Universities, Research Laboratories, Industries and other Companies acting in the area. The information collected was treated through Bibliometric Analysis and Social Network Analysis, and discussed from a historical point of view, what constitutes an original approach involving, at the same time, the typical perspectives of Statistics and of Humanities. Results compiled here can be useful for activities related to the conception of educational and scientific policies for the area, as well as in the dissemination of the knowledge generated. (AU) |
