Graduated in Biological Sciences (Bachelor and Licenciatura) by Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF-MG). PhD (FAPESP Fellow) in Translational Neurology from the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP). He is a postdoctoral fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (New York, USA) working with human embryonic stem cells, brain organoids, epigenetics and signaling pathways involved in the development of the human brain. He is interested in neurosciences, especially in topics involving human and comparative neuroanatomy, neuronal cell biology, neuron-glia interaction, neurodegenerative diseases and neurodevelopment. He has experience in cell culture, handling and differentiation of iPS cells, generation of cerebral organoids, molecular biology, behavioral analysis of animal models and neuroanatomy. He currently works with neurodevelopment (signaling and epigenetic pathways) and has experience in several fields of experimental neurology (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis, spinal cord injury, stem cell therapy).
