Mario VIDEIRA is Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Music at the University of São Paulo. He received a B.A. in Music (2001) and Philosophy (2008) from University of São Paulo (USP); an M.A. in Musicology at the São Paulo State University (UNESP) in 2004; a Ph.D. in Philosophy from University of São Paulo in 2009 and a Habilitation in Music Aesthetics (2019) from University of São Paulo. He spent the academic year 2007-2008 studying under the renowned Prof. Manfred Frank at Tübingen Universität on a DAAD/CNPq graduate study grant. His writings include a book on Eduard Hanslick (2006), as well as several articles on music and aesthetics of the Nineteenth Century. He was editor of the Revista Música (2012-2017). His research interests include the relationship between music and philosophy, the role of music in the German literary tradition and performance practices.Mario VIDEIRA is Associate Professor in Musical Aesthetics (2019) at the School of Communications and Arts, University of São Paulo (ECA/USP). He holds a degree in Music (2001) and Philosophy (2008) from the University of São Paulo, a Master's degree in Musicology (2004) from São Paulo State University (UNESP), a Ph.D. in Philosophy (2009) from the University of São Paulo (USP), and a postdoctoral fellowship in Musicology at the University of Oviedo (Spain). He is the author of 'O Romantismo e o Belo Musical' (Romanticism and the Musically Beautiful, 2006), published by Editora Unesp, and has contributed numerous articles to specialized journals. He spent the academic year 2007-2008 studying under the renowned Prof. Manfred Frank at Tübingen Universität on a DAAD/CNPq graduate study grant. He published the first Portuguese translation of 'Berg: Master of the Smallest Link' by the German philosopher Theodor W. Adorno (Ed. Unesp).He served as Vice-Head of the Department of Music at ECA/USP (20232025), was the Director of Graduate Studies in Music at ECA/USP for two terms (20132017, 20192021), and was the editor-in-chief of Revista Música (20122017). In 2019, he was awarded the 'Excellence Award for Emerging Research Leaders at USP' (Field: Linguistics, Literature, and Arts). Currently, he is Vice Dean of the School of Communications and Arts (20252029).
