Veterinarian graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of São Paulo (FMVZ/USP), with a Masters and PhD in Sciences focused on viral surveillance in non-human primates. Extensive experience in scientific research, molecular diagnostics, clinical management, and conservation of free-ranging and captive primates. Actively involved in national and international wildlife virology projects, applying molecular biology techniques, next-generation sequencing (NGS), virus isolation, and serology. Research interests include the interface between biodiversity, urbanization, and pathogen emergence, with a focus on how habitat disturbances influence viral spillover risks.
