Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Física (IF)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering Physics from the Federal University of São Carlos (2013), including a study-abroad term at Westfälische Hochschule (2012), Germany; a Masters degree in Physics from the University of Campinas (2016); and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the same university (2021), with a visiting Ph.D. period at Delft University of Technology (2019-2020), Netherlands. He was a postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zürich, Switzerland, from 2021 to 2024.His doctoral thesis was awarded the José Leite Lopes Prize for Best Doctoral Thesis, from the Brazilian Physics Society, in Optics and Photonics (2022) and received an Honorable Mention in the general category of the same prize in the same year. In 2021, he was selected as an ETH Zürich Fellow. In 2022, he was named an Ambassador of Optica, the international society for optics and photonics, in recognition of his scientific contributions and commitment to public outreach in optics and photonics. He serves as a peer reviewer for several journals, including Nano Letters, Scientific Reports, Optica, Optics Continuum, and the Brazilian Journal of Physics. In 2025, he was elected vice-chair of the Quantum Computing Technical Group from the international scientific society Optica. He is currently the principal investigator of the Engineered Quantum Control Systems Lab (EQCOS-LAB), based at the Institute of Physics at the University of São Paulo. The group was founded in 2025 by the researcher with funding from the special FAPESP-QUTIA call to build laboratories dedicated to quantum technologies in the state of São Paulo. His experience is in Physics, with an emphasis on quantum technologies, working mainly on the following topics: optomechanics, superconducting qubits, acoustic oscillators, and photonic crystals.
