Luiz G.S. Albano received his degree in physics in 2012 and his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Technology in 2018, both from São Paulo State University (UNESP). During his Ph.D., he spent a collaborative period at Polytechnique Montréal (Canada) as an intern researcher. Then, from June 2018 to July 2022, he joined the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) as a postdoctoral fellow. From August 2022 to July 2023, he joined The University of Chicago (USA) as a postdoctoral fellow, investigating the integration of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) and their related heterostructures into electronics. His main research interests cover the microfabrication and characterization of electronics targeting strategic applications, including biosensing, neuromorphic systems, and quantum electronics.
